What makes The Grainery unique is that we are able to provide our customers with the best venue to sell your items whether it is at a local auction or through international ecommerce.
Consignments
We buy and sell antiques, collectibles, farm primitives, and the unique or unusual. We have consigned everything from commercial electrical equipment to vintage movie paraphernalia. If you are a business looking to liquidate or an individual with a few items to sell, please contact us to see if we are right for you.
Auctions
The Grainery also provides an auction service. We understand that not all items would do well on an online market place and offer and alternative.
Welcome to The Grainery! We sell furniture, architectural elements, primitives, antiques, collectibles, packing supplies, and the unusual. We attend over 200 auctions per year and have an opportunity to purchase a wide variety of items. If you are looking for something special, let us know and we will try to find it for you!
The Grainery was started by one man who enjoyed antiques, auctions, and eBay. He would use a 100 year old grain shed as storage for items and a space to package them. Hence, the Old Grainery was born.
In 2006, what started as a hobby turned into a business. The Grainery grew out of the grain shed and we moved to our current location. The services that we provide have also expanded over the years from eBay to consignments and auctions.
Today, we are known as The Grainery and have a staff dedicated to meeting the needs of both our rural and virtual customers.

Woody and Webster are our in house mousers. They are brothers who came from our local Human society. Webster brings in all types of creatures from the outdoors while Woody is an excellent lap cat.
Research
Lana Rabe is our college student who researches and buys items at auctions. She also does special projects for The Grainery such as this website!
Wrappers
Stacy Gottman and Tracy Howe are our wrappers. They package up all our items as well as freight items which can be challenging. In addition to wrapping, Stacy and Tracy help us to keep our warehouse in order.
Listers
Selling on eBay has been an integral part of our business from the beginning. Sabine Hocking has been an employee since the beginning while Brenda Kroner is recent addition to our staff. They both take pictures of items, write descriptions, and list items on eBay. Without them we would not be able to function!
Charles McNett

Spring Time is Officially Here!
After record snow fall this winter, spring has finally arrived! The staff at the Grainery have been very busy with the Quincy Home Show, organizing a charity auction for Great River Honor Flight, and attending many auctions.
This Spring, our friends Gum and Tak from Japan were able to visit us again. Gum and Tak have been buying items from the Grainery for over a year. This is the third time that they have traveled to the US to pick up their goods. We are always excited to see our friends and think about the global possibilities of ecommerce.
We also have a 1970s Fire Engine at our location right now. The engine belongs to an antique collector who is also a good friend to the staff at The Grainery. Fire Truck rides are always exciting in the spring time weather!
As the weather turns warmer, we are excited about the possiblities of summer!
