Large Antique Copper Cauldron or Vat with hammered round iron riveted handle. Rolled rim and heavy. J P Schaum Lancaster PA on the rim.
Could be used as a fountain basin or planter.

These antique copper tubs were used for an assortment of household functions, from cooking and cleaning to laundry in the 19th and early 20th century.

This cauldron is in great condition and has been cleaned and polished. We did note one line of red that might be paint or marker but made no attempt at removal.
Antique copper cauldron measures approximately 24" diameter. Tub is about 18" high. Total height of the cauldron, including handle is approximately 28".
