Early fly fishing rod and reel featuring a solid metal rod with original green painted finish and a wooden T-shaped handle. Rod Measures Approximately 34" long, with the reel having a diameter of approximately 8 1/2". The reel is an early spool-style fly reel of all-metal construction with hand-wound line and no drag, consistent with late 1800s to early 1900s sport fishing equipment. This is a mixed wood and metal example from the transitional period before bamboo and cork-handled rods became standard. Shows honest wear from age and use including paint loss, oxidation, surface rust, and wear to the wooden handle. Rod tip shows wear as pictured. Reel turns but has not been tested for fishing use.
