We see a craft project or maybe even remodeling when we look at this variety of 15 spindles ready to be repurposed. Each has layers of chippy paint of different colors. Some have angled ends, others are squared off.
Please check out the photos, all of these salvaged spindles have chips, marks or maybe nail holes from a prior installation.

Spindles measure approximately 1 3/4" side to side, 1 3/4" front to back, others are tapered from 1 1/2" to 3/4" in diameter and others are somewhere in between and vary from 25" to 31 1/2" top to bottom.
