Primitive General Store Cabinet Vintage Apothecary Merchant 8 Drawer Cupboard

Impressive antique wooden general store or merchant’s cabinet featuring an abundance of storage and wonderful old-world character. This is a substantial two-part style cabinet with a large lower bank of six wide drawers and an upper cupboard section with multiple paneled doors and two additional small drawers.

The lower section features six long, deep drawers, each fitted with two metal handles. Above the drawers is a generously sized work or counter surface. The upper section includes multiple cupboard compartments concealed behind paneled wooden doors along with two small drawers fitted with square brass-tone pulls.

The cabinet retains an appealing dark warm-brown finish with lighter natural wood visible throughout the interiors. Decorative brass-tone hinges and latches add considerable character to the upper cabinet. The back is constructed from numerous vertical wooden planks, reflecting the substantial traditional construction of the piece.

The cabinet is antique and shows considerable evidence of age and previous use. The finish has scratches, scuffs, stains, discoloration, finish loss, edge wear and other surface imperfections. There is visible wear and loss along portions of the base and edges, and the large work surface shows significant scratching and wear. The wood back also shows age, marks and irregularities. The drawers, doors, hardware and overall construction should be carefully reviewed in the photographs for condition.

The aged surface and imperfections give the cabinet an authentic, untouched appearance and contribute greatly to its primitive character.

The rolling cart is not included.
