Antique S.E. Seger’s Sons Coffee Bin Wood Advertising Wholesale Grocers Quincy, IL

This unique and very rare coffee bin measures approximately 24 3/4" wide, 32 1/4" tall and 17 1/2" deep.

Fantastic antique S.E. Seger’s Sons wooden coffee bin featuring original advertising graphics and wonderful untouched character. The front is prominently stenciled “S.E. Seger’s Sons,” “C B & O,” “Roasted Coffee,” “Wholesale Grocers,” and “Quincy Illinois.”

This substantial wooden bin was made for commercial use and has a large hinged slant-top lid with original-style metal hinges. The sides and front are constructed from individual wood boards, giving the piece an authentic primitive mercantile and general store appearance. Additional old markings and shipping or inventory notations are visible on the back, including “124 Lbs Net.”

Please note:  the hinge on the left side is broken and will need some attention.

The bin has an outstanding naturally aged surface with warm brown color, visible wood grain, scratches, stains, marks, edge wear, small holes and other imperfections accumulated through decades of use. The advertising remains remarkably visible and gives the piece tremendous decorative appeal. The wear and patina have been left intact and are an important part of the character of this antique piece.

This is an antique commercial piece that shows considerable age and use. Please examine all photographs carefully for the wood condition, advertising, hardware, surface wear and overall construction.

A very impressive piece of early American commercial advertising with excellent original character and highly desirable coffee and grocery subject matter.
