Safe Guarding our American Liberty This colorful pictorial world map that is centered on the United States was intended to convey the United States military might and preparedness This map measures 32” in height and 22” across. Copyright 1941, C.S. Hammond & Co. New York. Lambert Guenther is in the bottom left corner. The United States is boldly divided into territories, each assigned to its nine Army Corps. Offshore, two concentric 'plane' and 'fleet patrol belts' stand sentinel, guarding against foreign threats. Tiny symbols on the map denote the locations of American and British military bases. Dominating the scene, oversized depictions of American warships and aircraft capture attention. Informative notes detail statistics about operational and under-construction warships, showcasing our naval supremacy. The poster is outlined by a Stars-and-Stripes banner and an eagle clutching a ribbon bearing the timeless quote attributed to George Washington: 'To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace.' This map has been stored rolled up. It does have some minor stains, but it is in great condition. Please review the photos as they are part of the description.
